What is Rhodium plating?

Rhodium plating is when a layer of Rhodium is applied on to the white gold, to create the look of silvery-white metal, similar to platinum. It is a common practice in the jewelry market. However, in this design, Vazana has decided to keep the original white gold color because it complements the ring well. The difference is not obvious at all. One of the advantages of keeping the original white gold is so that it is easy to care for. When rhodium-plated white gold rings are worn for a while, the plating comes off and it makes the ring look bad, and will need to be re-plated.
